"تصوف" هو المخطط الأولي لمسيرة الاكتشافات الموعودة، وهو البذرة التي نبتت في مؤلفاته الروائية والشعرية اللاحقة، لذلك يمكن اعتبار هذا الكتاب "دليلاً" يقود القارئ عبر عوالم كزانتزاكيس الروائية، وفي الوقت نفسه يمكن النظر إليه كمحطة أساسية لقياس تطوره اللاحق.Rating About Books تصوف: منقذو الآلهة

the author through this philosophic-poetic text puts on a facsimile of madness and creativity, insisting that beyond these images, however, much about ourselves, our relation with God, with others and with nature remains opaque and the final stage of tranquility will always be speculative. Were it possible, I would quote the whole book but being always intrigued by the meaning of prayer, i found this quote fascinating ان صلاتي ليست ندبه شحاذ ولا اعترافات عاشق ولا حسابات متواضعه لتاجر مقايضه صغيرA TOP SHELF review, originally published in the June 20, 2014 edition of Festiva Magazine, the weekly entertainment insert of The MonitorNikos Kazantzakis is primarily known to the US public through the film adaptations of his novels Zorba the Greek and The Last Temptation. The Cretan-born philosopher and writer was the author and translator of dozens of other works, however, including a sequel to the Greek epic The Odyssey, which he considered to be his greatest achievement. In 1957, after being
It's the third time I read the most exceptional book Kazantzakis ever wrote. Despite being condemned by the Church as an atheist, this book proves his writer to be more religious than the majority of those claiming to believe in God. Definitely, a must-read.

this book must be read from everyone.Very few though will understand it and be part of it.
I enjoyed reading this and I am glad I did. Kaszantzakis is clearly a "big thinker" and he grapples with some very deep spiritual issues here - almost like spiritual warfare. I don't think one can separate the man from the work in this case. He reminds me a bit of Luis Bunuel in that regard. His art, his life, his beliefs, and his frustrations, they are all wrapped together. You either care about what he is saying or you don't. I doubt many will be on the fence about that. Sometimes the writing
Full disclosure: my only other exposure to Kazantzakis is "The Last Temptation of Christ", which is not a bad book (the Scorsese adaptation is amazing). And translations are tricky things. But it just fell flat. More than that, once or twice I literally turned away from the book. It's shot through with a panicked fear of chaos and neurotic rage for order, with the kind of joy in destruction that I'm sure appeals to Silicon Valley's masters of the universe. I'm sure someone more versed than me in
Nikos Kazantzakis is easily in my top 3 authors of all time and Asceticism (translated as Saviors Of God in English although personally, I find the original Greek title a hundred times better and way more representative of the essence of the book) is clearly his best work, one of the most awe-inspiring and by far THE most genuine and profound philosophical and personal book I have ever read. Ever. Asceticism / Saviors Of God is very short, but a life changing experience. I've actually read
