Narrative Toward Books Whispering Rock (Virgin River #3)
A decorated U.S. Marine reservist, LAPD officer Mike Valenzuela was badly wounded in the line of duty, but has found hope and healing in Virgin River. When he agrees to become the town's first cop, he does so knowing it's time he settled down. Twice divorced and the lover of too many women, he secretly longs for the kind of commitment and happiness his marine buddies have found—a woman who can tie up his heart forever. He finds that woman in Brie Sheridan, a Sacramento prosecutor who understands his drive to protect and serve. Virgin River becomes a safe haven for Brie after nearly losing her life at the hands of a crazed criminal. Though tough and courageous, she's got some fears she can't escape—but now she has someone who will show her just what it means to trust again. Mike will do anything to help Brie free herself from painful memories. Passionate, strong and gentle, he vows to give back to her what she's so selflessly given him—her heart, and with it, a new beginning.Rating Based On Books Whispering Rock (Virgin River #3)

Keep the tissues handy. All these stories are about healing, but the hardship has to happen first. Even the things that you see coming from a mile away are effective.Carr pulls a lot of emotion out of the reader and her stories are very powerful. Mike and Brie both have pain and regrets. The things that bring them together then the evolution of their relationship made for really great reading. And plenty of tears, but lovely romance as well. The side stories are powerful as well. One seemed toMiguel "Mike" Valenzuela has almost made a complete one hundred percent recovery from his violent run in with some of LA's worst gangbangers when Jack's sister, Brie is brutally attacked. Brie recovers from her brutal rape but finds herself lost and adrift in a frightening world where she no longer feels safe. Being the victim of a violent crime himself, Mike is able to reach Brie and guide her out of her despair in a way none of her well meaning but suffocating family members was able. Together
4 Stars These books are the perfect "getting into the holiday spirit" type of read. They have a quaint, almost Hallmark-movie type feel to them that leaves me feeling uplifted. That said, I don't think I'd have the patience to read them, as they're not as couple centered as I prefer in my romances. However, I've loved listening to them as I go about my day.
3.5 stars, actually. My least favorite of the 3 Virgin River books. Not that I didn't like it - I did - I just didn't like it as much as the others.I did love Brie and Mike together. They were a good fit for each other. Though I have to admit Mike got a little too...soft...in my opinion. But I think for the most part Carr did their relationship well. I was a bit disappointed at how they seemed to get pushed aside a bit near the end. All she had was a short paragraph about how they returned from
The Virgin River series and Whispering Rock in particular, are the type of books one reads when quiet, restful time is needed. Each one focuses on a love story set in the same small mountain town. The names in each book change but the feeling is always consistent - low key, day to day happenings with people who care about each other. In this installment, Mike and Brie have known each other for years but life has taken them on separate journeys - until now. Mike is in Virgin River recovering from
I hate it when I buy a book and then discover I already have it. Such was the case with Robyn Carr's WHISPERING ROCK. I owned it and then spent $23+ to buy it for my iPod. Oh, well. I should check Goodreads more often to see what I already own. But I digress...WHISPERING ROCK was a delight and helped me make it through a difficult weekend when I need escape more than anything else. As I told my mother, the VIRGIN RIVER SERIES is comfort romance at its best, featuring a town of heroic men and
