Description As Books A Man
"What's the point anyway — Of suffering, dying? It teaches us to live, boy. A man who does not struggle does not live, he survives." (quote from the book) The book is a pseudo-biography about Alexandros Panagoulis written in the form of a novel. Fallaci had an intense romantic relationship with Panagoulis. She uses the novel to put forth her view that Panagoulis was assassinated by a vast conspiracy, a view widely shared by many Greeks.Describe Of Books A Man

I feel in love with the love between the two main characters - her devotion to him and his to his cause. . The way she describes his years of solitary confinement, it makes one realize how precious our lifes are living in a democracy which most take for granted.Although she became bitter towards the muslims in the end of her life, but this book is a masterpiece and she had a great effect of us - Iranian women - on our struggle towards liberty and freedom.....it is so sad that she said those words in the end........I don't know the reason but I respect her...Her books are beautiful and good reports of what was going on ...The things which we didn't know or were not allowed to know. May her soul be in peace.
One of the most impressive mixtures of truth and fiction I ever read.
I read this bumper book almost without breathing and knew my life wouldn't be the same afterwards. Everything in my life somehow Got connected to the book. I never reread it, but those days, weeeks, months in the early 80's were very special
A book about a life of a revolutionary man told by his extraordinary lover. A romantic picture of a man alone against the world with his visions and dreams that seemingly only his death could fulfil. His extraordinary lover was Orianna Fallaci, who, I think, is such a good writer, their becoming lovers seems to be conveniently conspiratorial. The hero should die young, and the lover would write his story. The story is told in the second person voice, You, which cleverly enables readers to
My favourite book by this author, her masterpiece in my opinion. I greatly admire her, despite her late years when she became "a bit" fanatical.
WOW what a book! Hardly EVER read a book twice but I did it this time. My wife recommended it and I was hooked! I read it for the second time many years later for a book club. Lots to discuss. This life story grab you and hold you until the end!
