The Search for Alice (Dreaming of Wonderland #1)
I received 'The Search for Alice' by Amy Koto free in exchange for an honest review. When I first started reading this book, I was not quite sure what to expect. I was very quickly surprised! The only reason I did not read this book in one sitting is because I had to work. The references to Alice in Wonderland made me feel like I was reading a familiar story, but this book definitely has a darker twist. I love how Amy Koto tells the story from the perspectives of the two main characters! The
Fast-paced Fairy Tale Fun!I give this book 4.5-5 stars. I like bingewatching TV shows and I was able to basically binge-read this book. It dives right into the story which I really like. I don't like when books have too much setup and this book hooked me from the beginning. I love twisted fairy tales but this book had a lot of heart too.Favorite character: Queen Hartley. I love a villain to root for and there was something really wicked and alluring about this character.Ches is kind of like
This has fantastic reviews, and I can't argue with them. I'm just clearly not the target audience. I think that for teenagers overcoming things with family and friends (and really, what teenagers aren't) this could really strike a chord.
A talented new author has emerged from Wonderland with a splendid and refreshing writing style. Familiar references resonate throughout this delightfully enchanting tale. The Search for Alice by Amy Koto is a must read for those daring and curious enough to chase after their own White Rabbit. Can't wait for Book Two of the Dreaming of Wonderland Series. Bravo Amy Koto !!
Finished this book in one day , the perfect read for a beautiful day to sit outside and get lost in this book . If you like the classic Alice in wonderland youd love this darker spin on the tale . KallieBegans to see that Wonderland is a scary place , just as mad as her own reality. Kallie and Ches relationship is one of a kind BUT she soon realizes if she leaves wonderland she must leave him behind as well . The author knew just the right amount of twist to keep the readers wanting more . I
I won this book from the giveaways at Goodreads.com in exchange for an honest review.I never thought of myself as a character reader, but I suppose I am. There wasn't much character building in this book and for that reason I didn't really feel attached to any of them and in turn didn't really care what happened to them. The story was kind of all over the place between Wonderland and the MC complaining about her life and the people in it. It was just an okay read for me, I wasn't really pulled

When Kallie Bennett, a jaded teenage girl plagued by her alcoholic mother and her peers molded out of sheer bubble gum perfection, chases after Alice in Wonderland herself, she ends up lost in her own version of Wonderland, which forces her to face her utmost fears and introduces her to familiar characters with a dark twist. Among these characters is Ches, a gorgeous vampire with a conflicted conscience, who becomes Kallie’s guide and blossoming love interest. She also crosses paths with Queen Hartley, a manipulative witch who has the power to strip away one’s memories and imagination, which brings a bone chilling new meaning to “off with their heads.” In The Search for Alice, Kallie starts to realize that her Wonderland is just as frightening as her own reality and that she cannot always run away from her problems. She must figure out a way to defeat Queen Hartley and return home before it is too late, but she soon learns that escaping Wonderland means leaving Ches behind forever.Describe Containing Books The Search for Alice (Dreaming of Wonderland #1)

I received this book as a Goodreads Giveaway. I know my rating is markedly different than others and won't be popular, but I just can't give it more than 2 stars...even that is a bit of a stretch. The writing is stilted, all over the place, and clunky. The main character, Kallie, is mostly annoying and not strong at all. In fact, she spends a good part of the book complaining about everyone else in her life and much of the rest of it hoping that a boy will save her.
